Welcome to our candle-making journey! We are a mother and daughter-in-law duo passionate about creating clean, beautiful candles that brighten your home.!
Our Story
Dirty Little Hippie Candle Co. began in 2020 with a shared love of beautiful fragrances, cozy spaces, and candles we could feel good about burning in our own homes. We are Lia and Andrea, the women behind every candle, and we pour each one by hand in Fallbrook, California.
From the very beginning, we wanted to keep things simple: all natural soy wax, thoughtfully chosen fragrances, and materials made right here in the USA. Our candles are free from parabens and phthalates, giving you a cleaner burn without sacrificing the scents that make a space feel warm, welcoming, and completely your own.
What started as a small creative dream has grown into something we are incredibly proud of. Every candle is still made in small batches, wrapped by hand, and sent out with so much appreciation for the people who choose to bring a little Dirty Little Hippie into their homes.
Andrea, is a fifth generation Californian, retired nurse of more than 20 years, mom of three, dog mom to Bowie, and the family’s resident “Mother Nature.” With an incredible green thumb and a love for gardening and the outdoors, her connection to nature naturally finds its way into many of the fragrances we love.
She’s also Dirty Little Hippie’s unofficial Research & Development Department. Andrea loves the candle making process and is always experimenting with new fragrances, testing scent combinations, and deciding which ones deserve a spot in our lineup. There’s almost always something new being poured, burned, and evaluated, and discovering those “okay, we NEED this one” scents is one of her favorite parts of what we do.
Lia, is a stay at home mom to her daughter, Poppy, with a lifelong love for art, crafting, and creating. She loves making candles, but she’s also the creative mind behind many of the details that make Dirty Little Hippie feel like us, including our Room & Linen Sprays, which started as one of her ideas and quickly became a special part of our collection.
From our website and labels to packaging, product displays, and vendor market booths, Lia loves bringing all the little pieces together. For her, it’s about more than what’s inside the jar. It’s creating the whole Dirty Little Hippie experience, right down to those tiny details that most people may never notice, but she definitely does.
Together, we’ve built Dirty Little Hippie Candle Co. around the things we love most: creativity, nature, beautiful scents, cozy homes, and the simple joy of making something with our own hands.
